Uptime has extended Konica Minolta software solutions 22.06.2010Uptime upgraded successfully Konica Minolta Finnish branch groupware environment to new platform and extended its functionality, so that now this common and secure environment in additon to the company’s own employees is also accessible to important partners, resellers and major customers. Konica Minolta wanted already year ago its successfully introduced intranet on Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 to be moved from one server topology to a several servers topology and expand its use to extranet solutions. Uptime has carried out the installation of servers and data migration, added Microsoft Search Server 2007 Express to facilitate the search, created necessary security channels for secure access and separate authentication system for Konica Minolta clients and partners. “This project is a good example of how a company can gain so much benefit from using SharePoint groupware solution a mere year that it decides to make substantial additional investments in the software and expand its use,” said the system administrator Ago Väli from Uptime. “In the course of the project we helped to increase theperformance and reliability of the customer’s SharePoint solutions;  we added an advanced search options that reduce the time of finding documents and other content and created a new environment to the klient in which their partners, resellers and customers can exchange documents and project information through a secure channel. Konica Minolta operates in more than 50 countries around the world, including Finland. The company focuses its business to document management and its related solutions,  as well as print solutions – particularly in the field of color printing.
